I was listening to Radio Netherland on Dec 19-20 2008 and heard about women who had been sexually abused by men they may have been married to or came to live with in hopes to marry or work for, but were mistreated and sent back home, there was an Iraqi woman. Does anyone know of this news documentary. I would like to read about or listen to it again. thanks in advance for those contributing to my request. Tony

You can listen or download the programme as an mp3 if you go to "Radio programmes", click on the programme then click on the mp3 icon in corner. On my laptop, clicking on it opens it in Windows Media Player.

Several people noted that your site only allows a listener to 'subscribe' but it's impossible to just download an mp3 or podcast directly. Most devices that play podcasts need an mp3 to download (not an xml or rss link), it seems silly to offer podcasts in a way a podcast player can't access directly. Unless you have some statistics suggesting that 100% of your listeners only listen at home on desktop units or synced devices it is an odd oversight. Handheld devices are a podcast's best friend.
I know I asked about this before but I wanted to reiterate the issue to reinforce what others have asked, and I hadn't thought of the problem it creates at internet cafes as someone mentioned. It's frustrating as it limits access to good programming.
Great shows anyhow - thanks!

Thoroughly enjoy the station! I forwarded a few podcasts to my friends and they were both surprised and impressed. RNW somehow presents, informs and investigates in an new interesting and sort of nonchalant way, can't really explain but it's different!. Especially enjoy 'the state we're in'. Only wish the shows were more regular.

Hello. I love to listen to your s.w. broadcasts. I don't have a mp3 or ipod. Can i get the podcasts on my laptop? I have visited the netherlands for business and really enjoyed the beautiful countryside and fabulous people.
Keep up the good work, and all the objective news and views your station broadcasts. American media is so biased that in order to get a real picture of what's going on in the world we have to listen to the s.w. radio.
Moderator's response:
Thank you for your all your kind words, Cariina. And yes you can get podcasts on your laptop. You'll have to install iTunes or other podcast software first.
Good luck

There is a piece of bumper musc that I hear on one of your newscasts (The State We're In??) that is magical. How can I find out the name of the piece, it may be part of a movie sountrack. I am a new listener in California and enjoy the quality and perspectives you offer.
Moderator's response:
Editor: If you can specify the programme, and perhaps where in that programme you hear the music in question, we may be able to help. Please send more information to letters@rnw.nl and mention the name of the programme in the subject line of your email.

Why don't you at Radio Netherlands put all your podcasts onto your site like the BBC does? That way people like me that don't have a modern computer can just go to an internet cafe and download them straight onto their MP3 player by just "right-clicking" etc. If you do already have this facility on this site please explain it to me as I can't find it. Regards.

Good newspaper. Neutral, gives reality. I enjoy reading it because it respects democracy and human dignity.

Thanks for all your work, I've been listening to RNW for probably about 25 years on shortwave, World Radio Network, and the internet.
Question: What's going on with the Bulletin of World News? The podcast has not been updated since December 4, and I don't hear that kind of newscast in Newsline.
Have a happy 2008 and again, thanks for all your great, informative, and thought provoking programs.

I have listened to RNW on short wave, and even DXed it on medium wave from Bonaire but podcasts and streaming have to be the most convenient way of listening. As I write I am listening to "Live from the Concertgebouw," a great pleasure.

It is a very useful to study and learn English. I like it very much. But I couldn't receive your programme very clearly. The weather in Beijing is so cold and I have to wear more clothes to avoid coldness. My radio is not very good.

I also enjoy the new "The State We're in" I played it for some friends and they asked 'where did I get this great radio station! I miss Dutch Horizons, and I hope you will put Curious Orange or a similar program on Dutch culture and history back on the air. Also, please consider a Dutch news program in slow speech, for those of us learning Dutch.
