freeburma200.jpgToday, Thursday 4 October, has been proclaimed International Bloggers' Day for Burma. As the Free Burma website explains, the organisers of this campaign "want to set a sign for freedom and show our sympathy for these people who are fighting their cruel regime without weapons."

Besides providing an opportunity for everyone - bloggers and others - to sign up as a participants in the campaign for democracy in Myanmar, the actual blogging aspect of the event requests that web loggers worldwide publish one of the banners or graphics available on the Free Burma website.

The bloggers have also been requested to include a link to the campaign site and to the petition page on their blogs.

At the last count, the Free Burma website had already attracted more than 6500 supporters via the internet.

Further information about the campaign, as well as access to the petition page can be found at the website Free Burma which can be reached by clicking here.
