Suspect Joran van der Sloot
|
He had billed it as "the most interesting and revealing crime show" of his career and it was sold to US networks before it was broadcast on Dutch television. In a gripping two-hour whodunit, crime reporter Peter R. de Vries reconstructed in detail what happened on that fateful night on a sandy Caribbean beach in mid-2005.
|

Natalee Holloway
|
De Vries took his viewers to Aruba where, on 30 May 2005, US teenager Natalee Holloway was celebrating the final night of her high school graduation trip to the island.
She met a 17-year-old Dutch student, Joran van der Sloot, in the casino of her hotel. He and his friends drove her to a beach late at night. The friends said goodbye, Joran van der Sloot spent some time with her. Natalee Holloway vanished, never to be seen again.
That, in a nutshell, was the official story, one that Dutch viewers, and certainly the Justice authorities on Aruba, were familiar with. But Peter R. de Vries had managed to obtain a full confession from the main suspect. He had a Range Rover rigged with several hidden cameras and instructed the driver, a Caribbean-born entrepreneur who had befriended Van der Sloot six months before, to ask the student some pointed questions.
"Didn't tick anymore"
The video footage shows Joran van der Sloot smoking marihuana and telling his friend on several occasions the details of what happened on Aruba two and a half years ago.

He describes how he had sex with the young American woman, that all of a sudden "she started shaking and didn't tick anymore", how he phoned an friend who owned a boat and who then came over to the beach to help him to dispose of the body at sea.
Again, most Dutch viewers had already heard much of that part too. It was leaked to the press on Friday and Joran van der Sloot was quick to respond.
"So dumb"
Speaking by telephone on a late-evening talk show on Friday, Van der Sloot said he was retrospectively kicking himself for having said all this: "It's so dumb, so dumb. It's really dumb. I said something; something I shouldn't have said." However, he also added that "It is also easy to prove that what I said is not true," although he appeared not to know how this could be done.
|
"The American girls were drinking, taking coke... I told them I had to go to school tomorrow. I could see Natalee's friend wanted to have sex. [...] She said, pointing to Natalee, 'that girl fancies you.'"
"That whore... she ordered a jelly shot, which I drank from her bellybutton while she was lying on the bar... I gave her a Bacardi 151 (75 percent alcohol)...wanted to f*** her. [...] She said she didn't want me to take her back to the hotel. She wanted to see the sharks [there are no sharks near the island, ed]."

|
Van der Sloot maintained his innocence: "It's a story I told my friend because I knew that it was what he wanted to hear".
|
"All of a sudden, she started shaking all over... there was no one there... So I talked to her. And she didn't say anything."
"I told my friend 'I have a problem'. I moved her to a mangrove-bush... I was shaking that bitch, nearly cried - why did this shit happen to me?"
"He was there as well... it was 2.30 A.M... he has his own boat"
"I know what happened to her. She is dead, of course. [...] I would never kill a girl... I was lucky: the ocean is big enough. I think I'll never get caught for this. [...] If you go farther than two miles, she'll never be found."

Legal significance
Before Sunday's broadcast, crime reporter Peter R. de Vries notified the Aruban Public Prosecutor's Office and also asked Natalee's mother, Beth Twitty, to come to the Netherlands so that he could present his findings to her in person in advance.

The new material prompted the Aruban Public Prosecutor's Office to reopen the investigation into the disappearance. "This information may help considerably in the solution of the mystery of Natalee's disappearance," a spokesman stated. It "may shed a new light on the mode" in which she died and the "method by which her body disappeared."
However, experts differ when it comes to the legal significance of this secretly recorded confession. Will it hold up as evidence in a court of law?
Some argue that filming people without their knowledge is a punishable offence; others believe it will only be weighed by a judge if there is a body of other evidence pointing in the same direction. But there's a general consensus that, combined with the evidence already found, suspicion now clearly lies with Joran van der Sloot.
| "I've been incredibly lucky... he went into the sea and dumped her... I managed to sleep afterwards." |

Damages
The Dutch student emerges from the video-footage as a callous, calculating, cold-hearted young man, Peter R de Vries concluded, ending a memorable crime show on Dutch television.
|
"The most important thing is disinformation; the most important thing is, what I would advise anyone is, don't talk!"
"I'm finished. It'll be better than I could have hoped for... I'll probably get a massive compensation."

Few people seem to take psychic investigations seriously however I do and I spent over 2000 hours on this case working with psychic friends of many skills from the USA to New Zealand as welll as using Google Earth to search the island following up leads from my friends. They worked independently mostly and avoiding media releases in order to preserve the integrity of our work.
The remains were moved more than once with decomposition occuring in the Bubali pond near the outlet of the sewage plant according to what I distilled by comparing various psychic "visions". Bones were subsequently moved again. Some data matches the alleged confession, but there are some details in question. Naturally he would not say where they put her if she were still on the island. They would say the ocean. I was unable to go to Aruba lacking the protection of being officislly involved. Throughout our work we spoke with the distraught spirit of Nat who insists she was not totally drunk and wanted her mother to know this. Repeatedly she asked "why did they bury me while I was still alive?"
As for the man who first came to assist with disposal one of my friends says she heard the man say "Man what the ( ---) - did you do to her?
One day I may write the entire story as we saw it to be whether it interests anyone or not? It gets rather complex going into spirit realms and past lives. I am not an investigator usually so I had the question. why did Nat in spirit come to me for help when I had never known her. That question was answered as well as to a larger story of why she was predestined to die in Aruba.
In due time the larger story of crime and corruption will unflod with or without our help. The final chapter of Natalee Holloway is yet to unfold.

Ok...Why hasnt the OBVIOUS been done here, or maybe they have, but in the case that no has thought of this... Joran said that he called from a payy phone. They should get phone records from all the payphones within a 1 mile radius of the beach where they suspect the incident happened per the confession. They can pull the records from the phone and see who he called! But what do I know!

Joran, come to my courtroom for some justice. GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY. His parents should be ashamed, the lack of respect for Natalee is deplorable, the crime itself, the attitude of the scum bag, his behaviour, lies and deceit is evil.

I can't believe they had this guy Joran right in their hand and they blew it all...
If they would have waited and played along a lot longer, they could have gotten so much more information that could have solved the case. How could they have been so stupid? Of course Joran would say he was making it all up !!! Even I could have told them that he would deny the whole confession story. Was this investigative team brand new and never did a spy job before? (I don't even watch spy shows) This was pretty elementary and if I were the Holloways I would be livid. Too bad this creep will go free because of a botched investigation.

The incident is traumatic, but it is heartening to read the global outpour of sympathy for the family. And I really wonder what lessons we have learnt, being parents of boys and girls. Have we cautioned our children against the circumstances and habits that led to this tragedy?

The girl did too many shots of Bacardi 151 and died of acute alcohol poisoning. All dumb dumb Joran had to do was call the police, but he knew he had sex with an incoherent girl. He probably did nothing illegal UNTIL he disposed of the body not knowing if she was dead or alive.

It is so obvious that Joran is guilty and it is more obvious that it was his father who helped him dispose of Natalies body and then coached him to deny the whole thing no matter what. When he was asked who helped him by Patrick, he quickly said "IT WAS'NT MY PARENTS!" Thats a giveaway if I ever heard it-he is just plain dumb and guilty-he deserves just punishment and will get it some way-somehow.

I want to see justice for Natalie Holloway, but I want to see Justice peacefully without violence. In some of the responses, people are wishing death on Joran with indirect comments on the Natalie Hollway articles and I find that OFFENSIVE AND THREATENING. STOP IT!

Elizabeth you are so right. I would think that the Van der Sloot family will be punished for life by the fact that the world knows Joran is a liar and had something to do with Natalies disapearance or death. Nobody will ever trust that family again. Everytime someone meets Joran, or sees him walking down the street, they will remember his cold and unemotional behavior for the world to see by hidden camaras.

Joran killed her ---directly or indirectly---doesn't matter. Any person that would dispose of someone as he did has something to hide. He knew people would find him to be the monster he is. What did he REALLY do this poor girl?? What was he covering up??

I agree with all of you fine folks about this low life piece of crapp Van Der Smutt Sloot. I wish for the peoples of Aruba and the Netherlands not to be held responsible for the actions of this spoiled trashy socciopath kid.It is not our job as human beings to judge other countrys citizens for the actions of this punk..If one refers back to the beginning of this case.FoX News interviewed his fatehr whom was so nervous and sweating like a pig. There is not one doubt the father helped them dispose of the body of Natalee Holloway, then coached Joran and the Kalpoe brothers on what to say,or what NOT to say. Then, the father used his political connections as a judge to cover up this case. The father is seldome ever out oof site when makes BIG public announcements. The father knows damn well what happened,he helped as well ! Vander Sloot is such a smug SOB he thinks hes above GOD even.He always has a smuggg look on his socciopathic face ! Your day is coming you smugg piece before GOD judges you to eternal HELL

Question for Bob: Where did you get the idea that the media must get permission of criminal suspects before using their names in news stories?

Joran Van der Sloot is an example of what a promiscuous society can produce. He's been drinking, drugging, and carousing bars and casinos all his teen years with little or no parental supervision. Now he has all the classic symptoms of a sociopath. I can hardly fathom the callous, smug way he discusses the murder, likely rape, and disposal of Natalee as if she had lived her 18 years of life for the moment he could use her to satisfy his desires. He's a monster. How he could have watched Natalee's parents suffer all this time is beyond me. One thing for sure, if he doesn't get his just punishment here on earth, he will suffer an eternity of punishment in the hereafter.

1. Juran should die a slow painful death. 2IMO his father is the one who disposed of her body.(remember the sweat dripping from his face when he was talking to Beth? 3. I will not visit Aruba unless he is prosecuted.)
